Your doctor might have discovered this condition if you’ve experienced a dislocated shoulder. For this reason, the arm bone slips out from the socket and is compressed against the socket’s rim in the shoulder joint.

In the externally rotated position, the posterosuperior aspect of the humeral head abuts and drives through the anteroinferior aspect of the glenoid rim displace. This can damage the humeral head, glenoid labrum, and rims. An associated humeral head compression fracture and glenoid labrum is a fibrocartilaginous structure that rings the circumference of the glenoid fossa.
