Cheesy enchiladas, creamy chicken burritos, and ice cream tacos are there anything left that tortillas cannot do? This is such a versatile food item that whether it is breakfast, lunch, dinner or just a snack, you can easily make something healthy and delicious. But besides these roll-ups, tortillas can also be used as a substitute of different bases in meals like pizza, nachos, lasagna, quiche, etc. So let’s take a look at how we can use tortillas and can prepare easy tortilla recipes.

Using Tortillas as Pizza Base

You can use tortillas as the pizza base. This is a healthy option for individuals who prefer thin crust. This meal is also ideal as you can make and serve individual size pizza. You can do a lot of variations with toppings and add your favorite ones in combination. You can also try if you have something for watermelon pizza (or not).

You can either make tortillas using the best tortilla maker or buy a readymade one. All you need to do is take a tortilla, put your preferred pizza sauce, toppings and cheese. You then put it in the oven or grill on the pan until cheese melts. Your pizza is ready to eat. You can also use a whip cream charger and it makes it so tasty.

Tortilla as Nachos

Store-bought nachos are made from chips while chips are made from tortillas (at least some types of chips). So, if you are a health-conscious eater who wants to have the healthy option instead of nachos, you can just utilize the packet of tortillas you have. Cut in wedges or strips, and bake or fry to get perfect crispy tortilla nachos.

You can add flavors like salt and pepper, ranch flavor, buttery garlic, or anything you want. Also, top tortilla chips with beans, meats, fajita, cheese blend, and vegetables of your choice, salsa, and your favorite sauce. Now just dig in.

Tostadas Made with Tortillas

This is like tortilla chips but here, you fry the whole tortilla instead of cutting it and then top up with whatever you like. Well traditionally it is topped with beans, cheese, your preferred taco filling and salsa, but what if we like avocados instead of salsa.

So, experiment with different flavors and give your taste buds a treat. Tortilla Wraps Tortillas are also great for wraps. Heat up your tortilla a bit so that it becomes soft. Now fill this beautiful piece of flatbread with your favorite sandwich filling. Be it beans, meat and salsa, chicken fajita, or with just cheese if you want.

You can also make grilled cheese taco. Just put your favorite blend of cheese on a tortilla then fold in half, grill on the pan until cheese melted and voila.

Breakfast Roll-ups

If you are in a hurry and have no time to make pancakes or if you are generally lazy, this is the perfect recipe for you. Take a tortilla and warm it a bit. Slather Nutella, almond butter, honey, peanut butter, jam or jelly… the options are endless. Along with these sweet and sticky sauce, you can always add a twist, like add strawberries, blueberries, bananas, sweet sausages, and whatnot. And did you know you can make tortilla French toast too? If you are craving for crepe but again are busy (or lazy like me), you would do just fine to go for this option. Dip tortillas in a mixture of egg, milk, and vanilla and fry in butter. Then roll in sugar and cinnamon before topping with maple syrup, Nutella or your choice of fruits.

You can add a twist to this recipe by making French toast roll-ups. Just put a mixture of yogurt and banana, top with granola and berries, roll it up and your healthy and satisfying form of cereal is ready.

Tortilla Lasagna

As the name indicates, all you need to do is use tortilla strips instead of lasagna and no one would suspect anything. Perfect recipe if you have leftovers as filling and also tortilla leftovers. All you have to do is just combine the two and you are good to go.

Tortillas as Pie Crust

Believe me, this is the most brilliant calorie-cutting hack and you would thank me later. Just replace regular pie crust with the tortilla. Place your tortilla in a pan brush with butter, put in pie filling and bake as per instructions. You can even decorate your pie with tortilla strips or cut other shapes. These are all the uses of beautiful tortillas other than typical burritos, tacos or enchiladas. And here is the bonus, one of my favorite recipes. I hope you enjoy this.

Migas Made from Tortillas

A traditional Mexican breakfast and such an easy and mouthwatering recipe that you can eat whenever you feel like breakfast, lunch or dinner or even as a snack. All you need to have baked or fried tortilla chips scrambled egg, homemade or store-bought salsa. Put everything together, add some cheese and voila.

Final Words

One good thing about the above-discussed easy tortilla recipes is that they are not only easy to make, but also require ingredients that are fairly easier to obtain. Why not experiment with these great tortilla recipes today?
